What’s New at Citrus Expo?

Josh McGill

Thanks to new additions to the seminar program and the trade show floor, 2018 is poised to be the biggest year yet for Citrus Expo.

Josh McGill, Citrus Expo show director, is excited to invite vegetable and specialty crop growers to join the mix of attendees this year. Vegetable and specialty crop sessions have been added to the educational program. “This (the vegetable and specialty crop seminars) will go on at the same time as the citrus seminars in a separate building,” McGill said. “We’ll be utilizing the Davidson House.” McGill believes vegetable and specialty crop growers will not want to miss the program.

Along with the vegetable and specialty crop program comes another seminar program addition: a general session. The general session will welcome all growers attending Citrus Expo. This session will cover some crucial topics like crop insurance, labor, the farm bill, hurricane relief funding and more.

McGill also is looking forward to bringing attendees live equipment demonstrations in the area between the seminar hall and the trade show.

The trade show at Citrus Expo will be bigger this year. “We have more exhibitors than ever,” McGill explained. “This is the first year we’ve had an official truck sponsor at Citrus Expo, so we’re really excited to have Ford partner with us.” There will be Ford trucks displayed on the trade show floor, as well as giveaways at the Ford exhibit.

McGill says other highlights of Citrus Expo 2018 will be a networking reception and the annual FFA raffle drawing. The networking reception was introduced two years ago, and Citrus Expo is pleased to bring it back. The FFA raffle will include some fantastic prizes. Be sure to purchase a raffle ticket from an FFA officer on the trade show floor on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Due to a staggering amount of support, Citrus Expo is currently sold out of indoor exhibitor space, but there are outdoor booths available. If you would like to exhibit outdoors or be added to the waiting list for indoor space, please fill out a registration form.
