Citrus Expo 2017 Theme Announced

This year’s Citrus Expo seminar program theme is Challenge, Change and Opportunity.

Michael Rogers, director of the Citrus Research and Education Center and key organizer of the Citrus Expo seminar program, gave some insight on the meaning behind the 2017 theme. “We’re going to be talking about the challenges regarding citrus greening and how growers need to change their programs in the short term to live with the threat of citrus greening. But there’s also a lot of opportunities for the future. We’ll talk about some of the new varieties coming out, some that seem to have tolerance to HLB,” he explained.

Join growers, industry leaders, professionals and researchers in exploring citrus industry challenges, changes and opportunities. Seminar topics include the most recent findings in pest management, plant improvement and production. Don’t miss our giveaways, complimentary hot breakfasts and lunches, and much more.

Pre-registration opens on May 15, 2017. All pre-registered growers will automatically be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a John Deere gun safe donated by Everglades Farm Equipment. Register online (link), via e-mail (link) or by phone at 352-671-1909.

The 26th annual Citrus Expo will be held August 16–17 at the Lee Civic Center in North Fort Myers, Florida. Be a part of the largest expo of its kind in the Southeast region.
