Steve Smith, executive vice president of the Gulf Citrus Growers Association (GCGA), is excited about growers attending the Citrus & Specialty Crop Expo in August. “There is always a lot of good information presented at the Expo. There are topics discussed on other issues specific to the area, and the growers look forward to it,” Smith says. “There are a lot of contacts made by speaking with different vendors at the Expo. It is always a good time and good to get everyone together to share ideas.”
The Gulf Citrus Growers Association hosts an annual dinner that will take place during the Expo on Wednesday night, Aug. 17, at the Florida Gulf Coast University Alico Arena, following the networking reception. Smith says that the celebratory banquet attracts a good crowd, and the GCGA is currently working on the line-up of speakers.
Register for the banquet by going to gulfcitrus.org or calling 239-690-0281.
