The 2017 Citrus Expo is quickly approaching. Mike Sparks, the executive vice president/CEO of Florida Citrus Mutual, is looking forward to this year’s event and all it has to offer. “One of the highlights every year in the Florida citrus industry is the Citrus Expo,” Sparks says.
Sparks has a long history with the Expo and says he cannot remember the last time he did not attend. His favorite thing about the Expo is the seminar sessions, where growers are presented with the most recent research in the citrus industry. “It gives us a crash course on some of the research activities, snippets that last all day long, where growers and administrators can get top-line information on the most current research,” Sparks explains. He adds that these research presentations are more important now than ever as growers continue to fight against HLB.
Sparks encourages all growers to register and attend the Citrus Expo. “It’s such a meaningful two-day session,” he concludes.

Results of the survey will be presented during the Citrus Expo seminar program.
