Citrus Expo and the Vegetable & Specialty Crop Expo (VSC Expo) are quickly approaching, and growers can now register! AgNet Media, organizer of the combined event, is excited to bring the citrus, vegetable and specialty crop industries together.
The two Expos will share a general session and a large trade show of more than 200 exhibitors. All growers are invited to attend the general session, which will address topics such as labor, water and hemp.
Hemp has been a hot topic this year in agricultural circles, and that will continue at Expo. AgNet Media is pleased to have Holly Bell, director of cannabis for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, as a featured speaker in the hemp discussion. As this crop continues to pique growers’ interest, Citrus Expo aims to answer questions about the legal status of hemp, as well as how it will fare in the Sunshine State.
In addition to the general session, two separate educational programs will be held — one for citrus growers and one for vegetable and specialty crop growers. Attendees will again have the opportunity to earn continuing education units. The educational programs are designed to provide growers with the information they need to be successful and profitable. University of Florida (UF) Extension agents and faculty from UF research and education centers will bring growers the latest research to help them meet their goals.
The theme for the educational programs is “Growing Stronger.” As the agriculture industry conquers challenges, the growers and their crops will continue to grow stronger.
To enhance learning opportunities for attendees, Citrus Expo will feature hands-on demonstrations during the second afternoon of the event. This will be a great chance for growers to get up close and personal with the science that helps their groves thrive. Stay tuned for more information on the demonstrations, coming soon.
Citrus Expo and VSC Expo will also provide growers with several networking opportunities on the trade show floor. While making industry connections, attendees will see the latest services and products available to them. Be sure to stick around for a networking reception on the tradeshow floor at the end of the first day of the event.
Citrus Expo and VSC Expo will take place Aug. 14–15 at the Lee Civic Center in North Fort Myers, Florida. Growers will not want to miss this year’s event, so don’t wait. Click here or call 352-671-1909 to preregister. All preregistered growers will be automatically entered for a chance to win a John Deere gun safe, courtesy of Everglades Equipment Group.
Limited indoor exhibitor space is available, along with outdoor booths. If you would like to exhibit, please fill out a registration form.
